It’s Your Choice (IYC) provides information, advice, guidance (IAG), and counselling to young people, aged 11-25, who live in and around the New Forest. We also provide casework and targeted project support to ever growing numbers of young people with higher level, more complex needs which include homelessness, poor mental health, repeat offending, drug/substance misuse and being long term NEET. In the 12 months to 31st March 2017, 698 young people received 1:1 support from IYC rising to 2,617 when taking into account those attending our group work and emotional health and well-being (EHWB) programmes in schools
We are the only youth charity serving the whole of the New Forest. We have a deserved reputation for innovative service development to meet needs through open access to a ‘one stop shop, of services delivered consistently by a stable and resourceful team of qualified and experienced staff (13) and volunteers (21) possessing sound local knowledge and specialist skills.
Our key challenge is securing multiple year income to sustain our annual turnover of £300k+ through diversifying our funding streams and promoting our service benefits and outcomes.
Our Chief Executive must have demonstrable leadership and management skills to ensure the effective running of the whole charity and the awareness of the statutory basis for all our operations. Th ere is a constructive and supportive relationship with Trustees and the governance systems are strong. No specific qualification or background is sought but you must have a minimum of 5 years management experience in a service or setting relevant to our work and proven experience of successful income generation across voluntary sector funders.
