Drug & Alcohol Services

Introduction to It’s Your Choice Drug & Alcohol services.

Most young people on their journey into adulthood will experiment with drugs and/or alcohol. For some this may be a brief phase which passes without any negative consequences, for others things can sometimes go a little wrong, and others still may experience serious problems as a consequence.

Depending on our experiences as young people, religion, friendship groups, and values, knowledge of drugs and alcohol can vary greatly. Some people know very little and others know much more. Many have incorrect information, based on the many untruths and misconceptions that surround substances, and that in itself can be dangerous.

At It’s Your Choice, we aim to educate young people on these issues enabling them to make informed choices for themselves, and helping them learn how to keep themselves safe – and to think about some of the other effects of drug and alcohol use – such as long term physical and emotional problems, and increased risks to sexual health.
