Volunteering is a great way of giving something back to the community and using your valuable skills, whatever they may be, in a way that helps local people.
At It’s Your Choice our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and in the majority of cases you don’t need any formal qualifications to be a suitable candidate.
Volunteering is also a brilliant way of making new friends and developing new skills. Some people volunteer after retirement, others use it as a way of gaining experience ready to enter into the workplace. Whatever your reason for becoming a volunteer, we’d be pleased to hear from you!
So, why choose It’s Your Choice?
We see around 4000 young people every year and help them overcome difficulties including homelessness, drug abuse, unemployment, and mental health issues.
Whether you volunteer at our drop-in sessions, help us keep on top of our paperwork in the office, or raise vital funds you’ll really be helping local young people to be the best that they can be.
Our mission is to empower young people to make the right decisions and ensure a positive future for themselves, no matter what their starting point in life.
Being able to put your experiences and skills to a practical use is incredibly rewarding, as is seeing a young person you’ve helped succeed in life.
Working with young people is exciting, challenging, and fun – there’s never a dull moment at It’s Your Choice!
“Working with young people inevitably brings lots of emotional highs and lows…I am glad to support the organisation…I feel as if I am the right place while I am working there.” – Di Alexander – Volunteer Admin Assistant
